On Day 1, we drove to the Hopkinton Middle High School and boarded the bus. We moved from our school all the way to the Cardigan Mountain Lodge. We then got settled into our rooms, and got dressed for a hike. My hiking group hiked Welton Falls the first day. The falls were beautiful, but the water was really cold.
The water at the falls was beautiful how it moved, and the hike was refreshing. I heard from some of my friends that there were fish that were swimming in the water below, but I didn't end up seeing any myself. There were lots of rocks around the falls, and we ended up walking on them to explore a bit. Different types of trees and plants were surrounding the area. After exploring the area and sketching, we headed back to the lodge (movement). We played games and ate tacos before falling asleep into the next day.
The Cardigan trip was SO fun, and I REALLY hope that we can go again in the Winter time. I personally think it would be more nice to go in the winter, because it may have better views off the mountain, and I like to cross country ski, so that would be quite fun for me. During day 1, it was nice to see all the wildlife out-doors, and see how much we don't notice on a daily basis about all the plants and animals around us.
